Project Summary

Each year the University of Florida College of Education holds a Stakeholders Day to honor and celebrate contributions to the college. For 2024 I developed a creative direction for the video components based on the print and web designs for the annual Impact Report put out by the College.
The keynote video above and the style guide for the additional 3 video pieces shown throughout the day were produced using archival assets from UF, b-roll and photos from the team at the College of Education, and animations created for this video series.

Designing and Animating for Iteration

I chose to use a grid motif with paper textures and isolated elements from the architecture of the College of Education to bridge history with where the College is striving to go. Combining the tactile paper textures and grainy text styling and the digital pixels and cursor animations reinforced the bridge created at the College of Education between where we've been and where we're going. By collaborating with the College's communications team, key figures were highlighted throughout the video with attention to representing faculty, staff, and students alongside notable donors and alumni.
This involved creating animation standards for transitions, stylized elements like the grids and textures, and customizable text animation builds that gave others creative control while maintaining brand and project visual standards and consistency. This was done through a combination of templates, step-by-step project guides with screen recordings, and hands on exploration of the assets with the team.
Multiple grid styles with placeholders for various photos, b-roll, and textures were built out featuring the architectural visuals and paper textures so the final compositions were balanced in their design. Three variations on the torn paper animation were created to transition from studio footage to fullscreen animations. Animation presets were built and shared across the team for consistent application of grain textures, photocopy looks, and hand drawn line styles.
