Including All Learners in CS Education: Embracing Learner Variability
CSTA Keynote 2025
This video was created to accompany Dr. Maya Israel's keynote presentation at the 2025 Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
The visuals were designed to artistically portray accessible practices and considerations in computer science instruction. By collaborating with subject matter experts and gaining an understanding of what these concepts look like in practice, I was able to represent these instructional practices in conceptual animations with circle motifs throughout the piece.
Animated Orb Development
The orb was created by layering shapes in a 3D space (image 1), adding an adjustment layer that blurred the shapes together (image 2), precomposing and masking into a circle shape (image 3), applying glow, bevel, and chromatic aberration effects (image 4), and finally composited into the navy blue space the final animations appear in (image 5).
