Artist, educator & citizen scientist
My approach to art, education, and life in general is to examine the details to understand the larger picture. I grew up hearing "look up" from my parents and I still don't do that all the time, instead choosing to watch the ground for insects, snails, mushrooms, and all the other tiny things we are used to ignoring. By examining processes and structures in nature on varying scales, we learn from and about the natural world. By looking at landscapes that make humanity feel like a small piece of the puzzle, we learn about ourselves. There is so much to discover around us and sharing that with others, learning and growing side by side is at the core of my work across domains.
